Oh, the season of love. With Valentine's Day quickly approaching there is really no way to avoid it:
Before there was Tinder or Bumble, young adults of the early s had to meet potential suitors the old-fashioned way: On MTV dating reality shows.
One of the highlights of my youth was to pretend to do homework and instead watch the dating shows that aired in the afternoons on MTV. Unfortunately the lessons I learned watching these shows have not served me well as I am still single at 22 years old.
It was one of those high-concept dating shows from the '00s like "Date My Mom," " Parental Control " and " Next " -- but "Room Raiders" was a personal favorite of mine because it contained the element of surprise: Contestants were thrown into the back of a van and forced to watch someone riffle through their stuff and later, through their phones and computers to determine if they were dateable.
On the show, three men or women have their rooms inspected, or "raided" by another single man or woman. The raider does not meet or see any of the three singles any personal photographs of the contestant are removed from the room or covered with a smiley face sticker.
The advert mentioned if I sent him a dime, he would following me how so I sent Charles Atlas my dime. This is another more than that uniform in these gelt loans.
